Secrets to Rihanna's Chic Short Haircut

Secrets to the Style:
Be open to change. Try a cut that goes from longer to super short and back, and opt for dramatic color changes. You can get them without damage by adding faux pieces in neon shades. It's all about the whole package, so don't try to be what you're not. Your wardrobe has to work with your long or ultra-short fringe, bold color splashes and aggressive styling. For the latter, get schooled in how to use a whole range of stylants that offer strong hold and mega shine.

Celebrity Short Hairstyles - Jade Fusco

Meehan suspects Jade Fusco's reddish-brown, shoulder-length bob with choopy bangs may have been inspired by vintage style icon Bettie Page. No matter...Jade's definitely going for drama-her uber-short fringe not only opens up her face, but also covers a high forehead, while fine, one-length strands flare out at the bottom.

To Do: The best thing about this style is how low-maintainance it is -just work in some thickening foam and set on jumbo rollers. Then, brush it out, leaving a little curl at the ends.

Katie Holmes' Straight Lob Haircut

Katie Holmes was a short hair icon, and now that she's opted to grow it out, she's doing so naturally rather than going for long-term extensions. Her brunette, shoulder-length bob is slightly angled, with long layers to add softness and swing to the sleek look. According to Meehan, this stle is ideal for showcasing a strong jaw line like hers.

To Do: It's practically wash-and-go, but if you want to add extra polish, Meehan recommmends blow drying with a paddle brush, then touching locks up with a flat iron.

Zoe Saldana's Classic Glam Lob Haircut

"This is a true Hollywood look, chic and movie star-ish," Meehan says, adding that it would flatter almost every face shape. Zoe SAldana's all about glam with her gorgeous, modified '40s-inspired look. The black, shoulder-skimming length is totally on trend right now, with loose texture, full sides and smoothness on top. The off-center part can also be moved to flatter different features.

To Do: Add some gel, then finger-wave the top to create a ridge effect. Next, pin-curl the length starting about midway up the hair shaft. You can also get the look with a blower, paddle brush and 1 1/2" curling iron.

Alison Haislip's short curly hairstyle is party pretty.

G4 host Alison Haislip's fun night look, featuring shoulder-length twists and long, side-swooping bangs, emphasizes her eyes and pretty features rather than her round chin. But what Meehan likes best is how the look really shows off her gold highlights and gives her hair lots of dimension.

To do: Paddle brush the top, then use a 3/4" curling iron all around the sides. Each section is curled separately for a piecely look, then spritzed with hairspray for hold. Then, using your fingers, shake and loosen the curls a little, but do NOT comb or brush out.

Hollywood's new hot trend - "Long" short haircut

Rachel McAdams adds volume to her honey-blonde, shoulder-length air by way of tons of layers starting at around the temple. In contrast, the top and sides are relatively flat. "It's a very casual look," Meehan says. With full, lash-ticklingbangs, this look would be great for almost anyone-except if you have short forehead.

To do: for this look, you need a blow dryer and a medium-sized round brush. Wrap strands around the brush until about halfway up the hair shaft, heat it up with a blast from the dryer, then slowly release to swoop underneath.
